i have done a full install of slackware12 with default huge-smp kernel and my Pinnacle pctv stereo pci tuner card was detected automatically and worked with tvtime with some audio problems, i tried modprbing the card and got the error "Error inserting i2c core....." so i decided to upgrade the kernel. first i re-compiled the default kernel with old .config file and make some changes in menuconfig to match my processor and compiled it and i downloaded kernel 2.6.23 and compiled it with configuration from re-compiled kernel and every thing works fine except the tuner card. the card is detected with out any errors and there is no error while modprobing also. but htere is no sound and video when i run tvtime but tvtime-scanner detects and stores channels.
pls tell me how to make the card work.

I am not sure about your particular setup, but...

I have ivtv driver, and whenever I upgrade my kernel (debian), I have to re-compile the ivtv driver.

It is definitely worth a shot.

from where can i get the driver

Like I said "I am not sure about your particular setup..."

The driver had to come from somewhere.

You will have to do your own homework.
