PCI Sound Card

Hi, My name is Kartik. I am new to this group.
I have a hardware board which has Kernel 2.6. I want to know which PCI Sound card would be compatible to run on this board. There is a PCI slot. I tried using INTEK Crystal CS4620CM sound card but the board does not boot up.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks in advance

check out at Alsa
here
cause you want the manufacture to be compatible.

The manufacture and its driver and comments are listed. Check out Creative Labs they make soundblasters for example. Usually the Linux distro has most these already included, however, if not then you will need to download the packages here. Do some research here before u buy.
good luck

BTW, the mobo has the chips, memory while the distro has the kernel.
