PC2TV works in command line but doesn't in graphical

Basically that's the issue.

I can see the image displayed on TV when in command-line environment.

When X comes, all I get is a blank screen on TV.

This is what my computer has:

Fedora Core 2.
Video card: Rage 3D Pro AGP - Xpert 2000 32 MB

It seems that the video card is "powered by ATI" (meaning, it was not built by ATI, but by a third-party manufacturer).

A curiousity: I noticed that when I attempt to select (by using system-config-display) the video card to an option that points to ATI Rage 3D PC2TV, I get a confirmation that the change was done and X needs to be restarted. After restarting X (by running system-config-display again), I noticed that the video card was not kept to the option that I chose and, instead, it was set to ATI Mach64.

I appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Domecq

ATI support for Linux is really bad.

My solution was to change to an nVidia card.

nVidia software is easier to install, has many good features and its documentation for Linux is comprehensive.

I was able to fix the problem after replacing the video card to an nVidia one (GeForce MX 4000).
