"Out of frequency message for princeton monitor with radeon 9600 pro"

I have been trying to load Mandrake 10.1 onto my computer with some difficulty. After linux has booted my screen goes blank and I get an out of frequency message. I know there is a configuration file I have to change, but I'm not sure what to change on it. Does anyone know where I can find a list of monitors and horz/vert/depth settings ?

Thanks in advance~

Boot to failsafe and enter runlevel 3. Run /usr/sbin/XFdrake and change your monitor type to a Generic with a low refresh rate at your chosen resolution. Quit the application and run /usr/bin/reboot

It may be that your monitor is reporting via DDC available modes that it can't actually handle.
