Slackware 10 kernel 2.4.26
Alsa files version 1.05.rc1
Athlon xP 2600+ on an Abit VA10 using KM400
On board video disabled (MX4000 instead)
On board audio disabled (Hercules Game Theatre XP 5.1 instead)
I had sound output from both the RCA front o/p and the optical SPDIF o/p but now
I've lost the SPDIF signal.
I must have done something but damned if I can remember what ;-)
Sound still plays great out the RCA. Trying to force xmms to use hw:0.1 produces an error and no sound.
I noticed that the /proc/asound/devices content is differnet from when i first installed this card. It now lacks at least 2 digital audio playback entries...gotta be the reason why it's broke but how do I get them back?
I've tried reinstalling ALSA (following the cs46xx guide) to the point of alsaconf & alsamixer but there is no IEC slider bar anymore....sure there used to be one.
Any suggestions welcomed.
lspci, cat /proc/asound/devices & dmesg logs follow.
