Nvidia Slowing the Ship

I have just installed the Nvidia drivers for my 440MX card. But since then when I play music it jumps when i do the slightest thing in KDE. It used to play smoothly no matter what I did. Is there any way to stop this? if not can I uninstall the nvidia driver.

I am using mandrake and totem media player.

In kde control center>Sound>Sound System, set the skip prevention it to run with the highest possible priority.
