No Sound /dev/dsp Nvidia


Okay so I am running pcLinuxos, I'm a nOOb and found that i really like this distro, however i have no sound. When i start the pc up i recieve this error:

so what's the output of 'lsmod'?

and i presume you've run 'alsaconf' to set your card up. what's your kernel version??

this sounds device should work fine. i dont know pclinux os though.

it might be a case of finding what the device name is in /dev and linking it do /dev/dsp.

well i became tired of trying to edit everything to try to get it to work. I found there were more problems than just lack of sound. So I'm back to suse and it's working great. I think i'll just stick with that
