No Mouse Found when starting X

OK I had monitor trouble yesterday, but thanks to you guys that was resolved. Now I have another problem. It says it can't find my mouse. My mouse is a serial mouse and is connected to serial port one (COM 1). What do I write in the XF86config for location in order for X to recognize my mouse?

It's funny because Linux went on my other computer without a hitch, and this one is giving me all kinds of problems.

Thanks,
Garrett

ok, i got exactly the same problem, only my mouse is USB, where can i find the location of my mouse? /dev/mouse and /dev/mouse1 both didn't work for me.

it seems logical to me that there is a config file somewhere with the locations of every device on my system... i have no id where to find it.

/edit: atm i cant start xwindow at all :S
I booted linux rescue, but the command "hwbrowser" didn't work there
(i use Red Hat 9 kernel 2.4.20-8)
