Thumbs down No dri with ATI AIW in FC6

I can't get my ATI All in Wonder 9600 to do the 3D stuff. I have Fedora 6 on an Intel mboard.

First I tried the drivers from ATI website, both 8.32.5-x86.x86_64 and 8.34.8-x86.x86_64 versions: no 3D acceration. (Issues with kernel while installing)

Then I installed the drivers provided by freshrpms with yum: nope!

Finally I did
yum install kmod-fglrx
updated kernel to 2.6.20-1.2925.fc6, as well as kernel-headers and kernel-develop.

Now I have 2 kernels to boot from, so I use 2.6.20 to match the kmod-fglrx version. I tested with
aticonfig --initial
fglrx-config-display enable

etc,
but nothing.

The last thing I did was to put the original copy of xorg.conf in /etc/X11/ (and I mean the one the system used the first time)

# Xorg configuration created by pyxf86config

Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Default Layout"
Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0
InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard0"
Driver "kbd"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "us"
EndSection

Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "radeon"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Videocard0"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Viewport 0 0
Depth 24
EndSubSection
EndSection

Then I rebooted to runlevel 3 and did
fglrx-config-display enable

Rebooted again, this time runlevel 5.
My xorg.conf looks like this now:

# Xorg configuration created by pyxf86config

Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "Default Layout"
Screen 0 "Screen0" 0 0
InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard0"
Driver "kbd"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "us"
EndSection

Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"
Driver "fglrx"
Option "VideoOverlay" "on"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Videocard0"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Viewport 0 0
Depth 24
EndSubSection
EndSection

glxinfo gives this:

glxgears this:

Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0"

with very low FPS and slow motion moving gears.

And fgl_glxgears:

Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".

fglrxinfo:

I found this in a forum cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep WW && cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep EE
and I get this:

(WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.
(WW) No monitor specified for screen "Screen0".
(WW) The core pointer device wasn't specified explicitly in the layout.
(WW) No FontPath specified. Using compiled-in default.

(WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.
(II) Loading extension MIT-SCREEN-SAVER
(EE) AIGLX: Screen 0 is not DRI capable

I really have no idea, I've been trying for three days and I haven't slept much.
I'd appreciate any suggestion, the sooner the better, I don't know how long I will have internet access for. I'm just a newbie born in the wrong country or under the wrong political system.

Thanx.
