I don't have a Model 3200, I have a model 5000. I had to go into the setup and change from PTP mode to Mass storage mode. Then I installed digiKam and could transfer the images.
Another way is to buy a USB card reader for yoru memory card. They are chaep enough. Then the memory is nothing but an external drive. You can then copy fthe pictures you want with what ever filemanager you like. I use Konqueror. I prefer this method, I don't need the camera plugged in, just the memory card.
