Nikon Coolpix L4 Help

Hey well i just installed mandriva 2006 powerpack and all is working well but when i plug in my nikon coolpix l4 camera it wont read on ptp it when i change the settings to mass storage flphoto starts up but it will not read any camera connectecd i can not look at my photos or get them from the camera i would like to know if this is possible to do. all i really want to do is copy the file into a dir somewhere on my harddirve. if anyone can help please do.
