Nforce and SPDIF problems....again

Ok....I have loaded the latests bin from nvidia to get my network card going.......BUT

I cannot get any sound outta my spdif. yes it works under windows but i need it under suse 9.0
I have the nf7-s abit board and the sound drivers that load at boot are the intel i820 or something like that.

I'm confused though...I think I have seen where I sould be using the ALSA driver?? I am quite a noob with linux so be gentle....and yes I have been doing some searches on the subject and will continue to do so.

Thanks

Bobby

I am still looking for an answer to this quesiton:

Am I only going to get sould out of my spdif with using XMMS or watching a movie? I would like to get the system sounds and games, beeps, buzzes, etc. ALL sounds out of the spdif. Is this possible?

Thanks,

Bobby
