Need help with 6.1 surround sound with Audigy 2

Hi,

I´m new to Linux and only last week I installed Mandriva 2006.0 but I can´t get my Audigy 2 with 6.1 speakers to work, I only get 5.1 surround, the middle rear speaker does not work.

I tried alsaconf and alsamixer already and upgraded the kernel to 2.6.14-0.mm.7mdk-i686-up-4GB and alsa to 1.0.10.

Does anyone know how to enable 6.1 stereo?

I have the same and they are all workin.... and i dont know where to start to help u out. have u tried upgrading (if needed) emu10k1 modules?

Excellent, I can get sound from all 7 if I select the 5.1->6.1 up mix switch on the speaker set but that´s not the option I want to go for (it would mean some acrobatics everttime when I go to windows and want to play audio).

I have alsa driver v1.0.10 installed.

I have a question which Audigy do you have? I have SB0243 not 0240, it apperently is a Dell OEM´ed version but it does have real 6.1 sound.
