Need help with 1394 external drive.

I had a 250G drive up and working with USB2, but after a reinstall I wanted to set the drive which is currently undetected up as FireWire/1394, so I swapped out the cables.

When it was usb2, all I had to do was:
modprobe ehci-hcd
modprobe usb-storage

then it was detected as /dev/sda1

What do I need to do to use it as FireWire/1394? I've tried
modprobe ieee1394
modprobe ieeeohci
modprobe raw1394
modprobe spb2

What else do I need?

It's not seeing the drive...
Code:
[root@d3main root]# cat /proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
  Vendor: PLEXTOR Model: CD-R PX-W2410A Rev: 1.01
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
And we can see that the modules are installed:
Code:
[root@d3main root]# lsmod
Module Size Used by Tainted: P
raw1394 21140 0 (unused)
sbp2 20684 0 (unused)
ohci1394 28872 0 (unused)
ieee1394 204644 0 [ohci1394]
If I try to mouth the drive, I get this:
Code:
[root@d3main root]# mount /dev/sda1 /home/ftpdir
mount: /dev/sda1 is not a valid block device
Of course.. I didn't expect it to mount, since it's not beeing seen. :/

Well, it's not very pretty, but I figured out how to get it working...

modprobe sbp2
modprobe sg
modprobe sd_mod
unplug drive
plugin drive
run rescan-scsi-bus.sh
mount drive (/dev/sda1)

Sucks that I'll have to go through that every time I reboot.
