Post Boot to an External 1394 Drive

I am running a laptop and have an external 1394 drive. I have compiled the necisary modules into the kernel to use this drive, and have installed an OS on it (slackware 9.0)

When trying to boot to this drive, an "Error 0x07" pops up real quick, then it pops back to lilo.

Any sugestions?
