Hi! I just installed Ubuntu, and the fonts are so tiny I can barely see them. I have an ATI Radeon X600 Pro PCIE card. I downloaded the proprietary package for ATI, but I can't install it. I opened a terminal, copied the command from the pdf file for installing the driver package, and received the message---Can't open the package. I prefaced the command with sudo, typed in the password, with the same result. I double-clicked the file, and it opened a terminal, drew a lot of lines, then closed the terminal, but there is no difference in the font size. How do I install the driver package, and how do I change the settings for the fonts, window appearances, etc.? Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What file did you download?
What command did you used?
Are you using gnome, kde ....
Did you tried to change the fonts in the "appearance preferences" ?

Thanks for the response. I went to display and changed the screen resolution, and VOILA!, I can see! (Hallelujah chorus in the background) The command I used was sh ./ati-driver-installer-9.2-x86.x86_64.run. I guess the driver is already installed(?), as I was able to change the screen resolution, and I'm using gnome. Thanks.
