Nautilus unable to browse NTFS drive all of a sudden

At the same time I can easily browse it with dolphin and from the shell.

System: Ubuntu 7.10
the drive - external USB 250Gb Western Digital drive SATA

I can unmount the drive from the guy, but can't mount it back, though if I just unmount and turn it back on, it mounts and is browsable from everything but Nautilus

Very odd. What do the mount options and permissions show?

seems perfectly allright

all permissions are root.root and 777 on the /media/disk as well as on everything within it.
nothing in fstab, ubuntu mounts it automatically

if I start Nautilus from root, I manage to see the disk
