nautilus cant browse network


i have a few xp machines with shared folders and samba server on the network but i cant browse them with nautilus. win xp machines can see each other shares and also samba shares..but i can see them in nautilus

i can browse only by ip (smb://192.168.1.101)

any idea what could be worng?

Hello xrado,

You can browse the machines using

smb://xxxxxxx

Which means nautilus supports smb. It also supports ssh, and web protocols. But you want to browse the network same as that of network neighbourhood in windows network(?). If it is so, you will have to install and configure lisa daemon.
