MS mouse in linux

Dear friends,
is there anyone who used microsoft 5000 mouse http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=099
with linux? I am using f13 32 bit.
Can linux detect it easily? I am specially concern because there is no transceiver with this mouse.

Hard to tell if it's the *exact* same model, but there's a positive entry from 2008 for "MS bluetooth laser mouse" over in the HCL here:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/sh...t/4111/cat/443

Further searching around LQ may turn up more.

Another example of the thing working:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=646040
Though note that the user had to swap some buttons around (no big deal - lots of mouses are like that)

And more, Ubuntu-based instructions:
http://www.ubuntugeek.com/howto-setu...in-ubuntu.html

Bluetooth is fairly well supported these days from what I understand -but maybe wait for some other members' first-hand input before proceeding with what you're doing (buying one?)

Best of luck.
