Mouse Problems

I don't get my mouse to work when I configure X.

It types "no core pointer" and "falied to initialize core devices".
I have try with both a MX 500 and a old Logitech, no one works, same problems. I connect them to the PS/2 port.

In school it works, but there I have a Microsoft Intellimose Explorer 3.0.

Someone who can help me ?
