can't seem to get my mouse working on my linux box. i installed red hat linux 9 on my pc strictly to 'play' around with it i guess you could say. i have command line on the work computer...but i can't seem to get the system to recognize the mouse in the GUI interface. any suggestions?

plus, it's kinda hard to get around so that i can get the computer to recognize the mouse.

Suggestion:
make and model of mouse and the interface (ps2/usb)

Please post relevant section of X configuration file.
Any info (errors) in the logs of X in /var/log ?

<ctrl><alt><F1..6> will take you to a console. You can login and do your system maintenance (no mouse required )
