Question Monitor and Keyboard Sharing

Dear All,

Once I was in the server room of a large bank in my city, I saw a hardware that interfaced all the servers in the rack to one monitor and keyboard. It had many ports that connected to all the servers. I forgot to look closely as it was very cold inside and I just wanted to finish my work and get out of there. Can somebody please tell me what its called or give me some more info on that piece of hardware (It looked like a switch and was D-Link)?

Thankyou. I appericiate.

You probably saw a KVM switch. BlackBox makes what we use here at work. Currently I have a monitor and keyboard at my desk that is hooked up to about 25 devices in the main computer center.

You might want to look into VNC. Assuming all the computers are networked, you run all the "slave" computers from the desktop of the "master" computer.
