Lexmark 3430 all-in-one

So, once more, I thought I got myself a bargain, and instead it is a head ache I got.

I bought the Lexmark 3430 all-in-one printer-copier-scanner, only to realize, that it won't give any of my Linux systems so much as an error message, much less the time of day.
I have a dell running Fedora 8 and an eeePC with the original Xandros. Both computers know that the Lexmark printer is there, but print jobs run into some unknown corner of the universe. Pushing the scan button on the Lexmark gives a message on the scanner, to plug in the computer, and the scan software can not see the lexmark at all.

Did anybody find/ create any drivers for this problem, or do I have to bring the paperweight back to the store and buy something else?

If this worst case szenario comes true: what all-in-one is inexpensive and compatible with my different Linux distributions?

Thanks for any help!

I am guessing this is a x3430. If so looks like no support. If you have a more detailed model look it up here or one close to see what driver it will use to print with.

Now I am guessing it will be considered a paper wieght meaning no support unless Lexmark has something. My experience with Lexmark All in One is that they require a pc connected and turned on just to make simply copies.

Might use the search tool here and see if there are any related post and also search on google.
