keyboard issue Fc6


Good day all,

I am having a problem with my keyboard.The numbers on the right pad of my keyboard are not working!I tried to fix the Keyboard layouts in kcontrol but i cannot make it work.

Any help would be appreciated

FC6,2.6.18-1.2849.fc6

Don't take this the wrong way, but did you press the "numlock" key first?

Also, if that wasn't it, post the device section of your xorg.conf file for your keyboard please.

Ha a ha ah!! Don't worry i'm not taking it bad...I did press numlock..

This morning,I decided to create another account finally.Works good now.

Btw,if you are handy with resolving surround sound(onboard)& have time to spend troubleshooting,let me know I've been trying to make my surround sound work for the last year.

I've been working with linux for years...

It probably be best if you started a new thread for your surround sound issues. Although I have an on-board card capable of surround sound, I don't own the speakers to use so I don't know whether or not it actually works. I assume it does since ALSA recognizes all 5.1 channels of it.

Open alsamixer (goto a terminal and type "alsamixer" with no quotes) and see what sound card it claims you have. Or whether or not it says you have one. Also make sure all your channels are unmuted. And finally double check you installed the speakers correctly and turned their volume meter up as well.

Again you should really start a new thread, but that should get you started. Good luck with that too!
