Issue creating /dev/nst files

Hello All,
I hope that this issue has been seen before and someone knows how to resolve it. I am running RHEL4 Update 5 (2.6 kernel). It's running on an IBM Blade Center server. I have an IBM tape library with two 3580-TD3 drives. /proc/scsi/scsi shows the changer and drives. The scan utility in NetBackup shows them as well. The problem is that NetBackup requires a /dev/nst device file. The system is creating /dev/st files as well as /dev/IBMtape. How can I get the system to create the proper device files. One suggestion I had was to create sym links to the /dev/IBMtape device files. Not sure if that will work though. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Rick Q.
