Q: 1.Do the installation iso's that I've tried install in text mode? or do I have to download another iso?

Q: 2.Seeing as the above card is not on the supported products list should it be installed in text mode anyway?

Q: 3.Could I download NVIDIA-Linux-x86-256.53-version to a usb stick and manually install it from said stick during a text install?

1. Slackware should have a text-based installer, for the other disks I don't know.
2. What supported products list?
3. No, you have to install the driver after you have installed your OS.

1. Ok thanks, I've downloaded Ubuntu alternate installer - will try for Slack to.
2. When @ the NVIDIA driver download page they have a supported products list for each driver i suppose. Found a better list http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree8...rtedchips.html
3. Again Thanks.

Q: The Ubuntu alternate installer iso is two different files - one iso file is an "elby.VCDMount.1" which is about 709MB in size & the other is an iso.torrent "TORRENT" file which is only 28KB in size. Do I select both files & burn as a single iso disc or just the "elby.VCDMount.1"???

Just the elby-thing. The torrent file contains instructions for your bittorrent-client.
