Yes, it is very possible, though you may want to familiarize yourself with linux beforehand and make sure to backup any files you edit (ie. XF86Config-4). I'm using xinerama, which makes 2 monitors act as 1 big display, and haven't encountered any problems.

Quickly searching I found this:
http://www.linuxanswers.net/index.ph...-head-xinerama

... which might be of use to you. Though it is a year old and you might be able to find something better. Try searching for "linux xinerama", "linux dual-head display" or "linux multihead display" in google.

Good luck!

I am using SUSE 9.0 with dual monitors, one of them running from my Radeon 7500 card. It is recognized as an ATI RV200 QW. My other monitor is running off of my Intel 865G built-in. Setting it up in SUSE can be done with its YaST graphical (or text it X isn't working yet) interface. So, if you're not too heavily invested in your distro...

Xinerama is the way to go. I was using two old adapters and two monitors as one large display. This was with RH6 or RH7...as far as video support goes, its more which version of X you're running. I downloaded and built X from source to get support for some ATI card I was using.
