IRQ 9, busmastering & linux

I'm building an HP box with a scsi drive 2 nics and an internal modem. No matter what I do linux only seems to give anything IRQ 9. Different memory addresses but I'd feel much better with more IRQs.

Has anyone seen this before????

The bios has an option for bus mastering and a reserve list for ISA legacy cards. I've tried it with or without the bus mastering and I've made sure all the interrupts are available for PCI.????

Anyone have experience wth HP XU machines????

Sorrry, I don't know HP. They have their own ways of screwing people.

Every motherboard that I seen has their own way of registering IRQs to devices. Check the manual if one PCI or ISA slot is sharing another card or device. If you are able to control IRQ registering for devices in the BIOS. Then do it that way.
