Unhappy ipw2100 Kernel Panic / how to boot into 'safe mode'??

Hi!

I have built a LinuxFromScratch-System on my notebook and after upgrading my Kernel to 2.6.15.1 I had to reinstall the ieee802/11-drivers and ipw2100 and chose to use the current stable versions of both.

After I did make install, I did modprobe ipw2100 which caused my system to completely freeze and now my notebook refuses to boot - kernel panic.

The last thing I can see is a message about the ipw2100-module being loaded and then a lot of debug-data scrolls over my screen and a final line:

[< ..... >] unknown_bootoption+0x0/0x1f0
<0> Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt

What's happened here?? How can I fix this??

From my m$-days I remember the 'save mode' - something that I never needed until today.. How do I boot Linux without that dirver?? Is there anything I can pass to grub?

Thanx,
Christoph =)

To get back into your system, you could boot from a live-cd like KNOPPIX to fix things. I have no idea what the problem might be though, sorry.
