Internal card reader problem...

My fancy internal card reader + floppy drive 2 in 1 thing doesn't work well with Linux. Mandrake only recognizes it when it is unplugged and plugged again. (since the drive is connected to the motherboard via the USB pins, unplug and plug is not a good option) And every time I used it it creates a new icon on the desktop which is not removable. I need to get rid of them and get a correct driver for the reader. Please help.

which reader is it (manufactuter, model, output from mandrake, ...) give me as much as possible info of device

MITSUMI model F404M.

Mandrake recognizes it as a USB storage device.

my reader is working fine via generic SCSI driver, did you try it?
