Intel Extreme Graphics (865GBF) giving low fps

Hi,

I have an Intel 865GBF motherboard with onboard Intel Extreme Graphics controller and Intel Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz HT CPU. I am using Fedora Core 6 on a xen kernel. I am unable to get the expected graphics output with it.

Quake III for Linux gives at max 25-30 fps and glxgears gives less than 200 when I don't even maximize its window. Other games using cedega are even worse.

Initially there was no 'Mode 0666' for DRI, so it was using indirect rendering. Now, I wrote that line to xorg.conf and now it says..
Code:
libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x49
direct rendering: Yes
When I opened Xorg.0.log, I came across this line...
Code:
drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0
drmOpenDevice: open result is 9, (OK)
drmOpenByBusid: Searching for BusID pci:0000:00:02.0
drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0
drmOpenDevice: open result is 9, (OK)
drmOpenByBusid: drmOpenMinor returns 9
drmOpenByBusid: drmGetBusid reports pci:0000:00:02.0

Especially the line 'loaded and initialized 915 driver' is painful. I think this could be a cause. Am I right? Do you have any other ideas as to how to get good graphics on my system. And well, I've got beryl too, but I'm testing quake without beryl, so thats not the reason. And water effect and snow don't work in beryl, is that ok or it should?

Regards,
unpredictable
