Intel driver bug causes screen to stop displaying when changing screen sizes

I have an Intel 82845G/GL graphics chipset and I'm using the "intel" driver (as opposed to the "i810" driver) under Fedora 7. Under the "intel" driver, I have an annoying problem: sometimes, the screen will show nothing when I change screen size. It doesn't do this every screen size change; it seems completely random. Changing depths again won't return vision; the only way I know so far to fix it in the short run is to suspend and then resume again. This problem doesn't exist in the "i810" driver, but I'm using the "intel" driver so I can use suspend. Has anyone seen this bug reported before, or is anyone else having a similar problem?
