I'm trying to install Debian Squeeze (net install CD) on a PC with an EX100 wireless keyboard and mouse. The system starts the install without any problem, and the keyboard works up to the first blue menu on the Debian installer then stops - the system fails to respond to any key presses.
The mainboard of the system is an Asus M2N68-AM SE2, keyboard / mouse receiver is plugged into one of the USB ports on the back.
I've managed to install Ubuntu without problem on this system so I know the PC and keyboard are working fine.
Just checked that btncix - it wasn't enabled, but I've tried it, and unfortunately it's made no difference. Thanks for the suggestion though, it was one thing I've not tried.
I've installed Fedora 14 over the weekend; it's running very well but I would prefer Debian.
I don't know enough about the intricacies of Linux/Debian installation, but below are some more thoughts. You may have thought of them already, but I thought I'd share just in case. I'm assuming the install process uses binary files instead of compiling from source.
Option 1.
Install Debian Squeeze with another keyboard. If possible, change and configure the keyboards after the install.
Option 2.
See if your Logitech EX100 works with Debian Stable. Then do a dist-upgrade to Debian Squeeze.
Option 3.
Install Debian Squeeze onto another computer or a virtual machine. Transfer the files to a second hard drive. Use that hard drive on your computer with Logitech EX100.
Thanks for the further suggestions Btncix - I'm downloading Stable right now, so I'll try that first. If that fails I've a spare keyboard and mouse, so I'll have a go at option 1 over the weekend.
I'll keep you posted on progress - thanks again for the advice.
