Huawei modem E3276 hangs in kppp

I have used kppp with Huawei modems for many years with little problems until I got modem e3276. It will stop working on some AT-commands like ATM0L0.I've tried to find where these commands come from but with no success yet. Wvdial without those commands work as expected but I prefer using kppp. Thanks for help to solve the problem.

What distros are you using? Let me see your kppp configuration files(they are located in ~/.kde/share/config/kppprc)

Configure kppp for new modem

I using KDE3.5 with opensuse 10.3. After 10.3 i tried newer versions with KDE4 but after much work without getting a satisfactory installation I returned to 10.3. Lately a special 12.1 adapted to KDE3.5 has come to rescue and I'm going to add using that version.
Thanks for the tips where the config file is located. I removed the lines setting up the speaker volume but kppp think that serial modems should have a speaker and sent out ATM1L1 as a sort of default.I think the end has come for using kppp with modem E3276. Something making easier to replace kppp is that the latest usb-modeswitch did work and switched the modem to /dev/ttyUSB0. If anyone have a good choice for kppp replacement I would be glad to hear of that.
