Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

HP scanjet 3800 driver

Is there anyone, whose scanjet 3800 works on Linux? Sane-project.org says probably unsupported, so I feel hope a little.
Thanks.

Hi there,
I am also looking for a driver for the Scanjet 3800, if anybody could help - most appreciated! Besides, I am using Suse 10.1.
Best regards,
Knut

I use Ubuntu 11.10 and HP Scanjet 3800 works fine with XSane Image Scanning program (XSane 0.998). You have to start the program and it will automatically detect your scanner if it's turned on. I installed XSane from the Package Manager in Ubuntu...

Hope this helps! Though...5 years late... :-D Better late than never ))))
