I have an hp deskjet960c printer install under redhat 8.0 as a usb. redhat detect the printer automatically during the installation and it sees the printer as a postscript, which is right. after the installation has completed, I try to print a test printer and I see the printer send a job to the printpool, but there is not output printout from the printer. then I reboot the computer and I watch to see if I will see the name of the printer during reboot process, or something as usb printer. I did not see it. then I remove the usb cable from the computer and I reboot the computer. the computer prompt a message during the reboot process ask me if I want to remove or keep the driver for the the hp deskjet 960c. then I know the printer has installed successfully.
I want to know if anyone knows why the printpool did not print the test and how can I fix it
