I installed Manjaro 15.09 Xfce 4 days ago and I am down to my last issue to get working, I hope. I set up my HP Deskjet 1055 all in one, printing works fine and the documentation said it uses xSane to perform scans. I installed xSane and when I open it I get a message box no device available. Then I checked further and said no GUI scanning is supported by HP only command line scanning. I can't stand using the terminal. I checked xSane.org not any help. I didn't see a listing for the HP Deskjet 1055. How do I get this to work in the GUI?
In addition to what frankbell has said, you can also try using "Simple-Scan," another GUI scanning utility. This should be available in Manjaro's package manager but if not, you can download it from Arch's site here (for 32 bit) or here (for 64 bit.)

Interesting. This is the second time I've suggested running "hp-doctor" and the other commands and it's worked, even though, if I remember correctly, it didn't report anything out of order. But, hey, I'm glad it works, though!
EDIT: You're welcome, BTW.
