Question Help orinoco card model# 8420-wd

Has any one gotten The new Orinoco Gold cards with the model number 8420-WD? I have to say so far i have learned a large amount in the past five days trying to get this card to work in Red Hat 9.0. I have tried wavelan_cs and i have tried orinoco_cs neither one seems to work. i edited /etc/pcmcia/config so that it now loads the drivers, which is a first in four days, but still not working

when i load the wavelan_cs i get this error

Jul 8 22:53:05 localhost cardmgr[2533]: socket 1: Agere Wireless PC Card
Jul 8 22:53:05 localhost cardmgr[2533]: executing: 'modprobe wavelan_cs'
Jul 8 22:53:05 localhost kernel: eth1: wv_mmc_init(): Invalid MAC address: 00:00:00:...
Jul 8 22:53:05 localhost kernel: eth1: wv_hw_config(): Can't configure the modem
Jul 8 22:53:05 localhost cardmgr[2533]: executing: './network start eth1'
Jul 8 22:53:05 localhost /etc/hotplug/net.agent: invoke ifup eth1

when i load the orinoco_cs i get this error

I will up date on what cardctl ident says althought i'm postitive it says Agere Systems. If it is something easy and i should get it don't flame at me. I'm new to wireless and pretty new to linux.
Any help would be greatly apreciated

p.s. i read some of the other forums and they seemed to be dead ends Thanks again

You should probably try wvlan_cs instead.

Take a look into URL: http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_...s.drivers.html
if you need an overview of cards and drivers.

Thanks leifole
I haven't tried the wvlan_cs yet but i did try orinoco_old_cs and that seemed to work. I have a suspision that they are the same. Can any one confirm or deny this?
also this is what i get when i do a cardctl indent

"Agere Systems", "Wireless PC Card Model 0111", "", ""
manfid: 0x0156, 0x0003
function: 6
Any Thoughts?
