help accessing CD-Rom

I'm having some trouble accessing my cd-drives.

I have my regular cdrom as /mnt/cdrom - /dev/cdrom
my cd burner as /mnt/cdrom2 - /dev/scd0

I've tried using a music cd in both drives. they're both locked.

I've tried using the 'chown' command to change ownership to a regular user... which doesn't seem to work.

any suggestions?

Audio CD's lack filesystem, hence they are not mountable, any decent music player (xmms with appropriate plugin - cdread) will get you going.

Thanks for the reply.. but I figured it out myself.
Just thought I'd post here so you can put this thread to rest.

What I did was just add my user account name to the 'cdrom' and 'cdwriter' groups.

It then gave me the permissions to access those drives.
