there is no problem with my mobo why because i connect two different hdd's it is working fine.
How can i recover my data......
Please help me...
Need some clarification. You state the computer stops as the splash screen. Does this happen no matter which operating system is being used? Is the the operating splash screen or he BIOS splash screen?
Press DEL to Run Setup
Press F8 to Boot menu
1024MB ok (8MB shared memory size is used)
Auto-Detecting 3rd Master..IDE Hard Disk ST___
Press F1 to Resume.
Iam using Ubuntu 10.05 OS
And also i get same problem in another HDD which is having Windows xp OS.
I can't Enter into setup if i press F1 and DEL.
If i press F8 also nothing is happening.
If the HDD's are Die is the any solution to recover the data.
And also i connecting External USB CD/DVD ROM to formatt the repair the c partition for windows same problem is observed.
Have you tried connecting the drives to the 2nd or 1st IDE channels? The 3rd channel might be bad.
It could be a hardware failure of the drives. I suppose it depends on how valuable the data is to you. There are hard drive data recovery companies but they are very expensive. If you have a known working drive of the same make/model you could try swapping circuit cards if you have the skills. It is possible for drives to be the same make and model but have different firmware so be careful.
Put it back the way it was originally. Then boot to a live cd and see what data you can access. If you can, get your data off right then. Then work on fixing the issue.
