Graphic corruption

Hi. I installed linux a week ago, and it seems to run fine. However, I've been experiencing crashes lately, along with graphic corruption on Xfree86. I switched to Windows and it happens there too. It's like a pixel or two turn wrong, then its a whole area, it happens the most when scrolling or moving stuff around.

My system is an Acer, one of those have-it-all boards with 128MB on RAM, and an nVidia GeForce4 on the AGP port. I'm not sure if it's the card or the chipset the one that's failing. Has anyone experienced something similar? Any kind of help would be appreciated, thanks.

IF you have another computer to test the card in do it. Mysterious blotching maybe a sign of a dying video card.

Yup, it was the card. I was hoping it would be a software thing, but it failed the same way on my sister's machine. It doesn't trash until it's been up for a couple of minutes, so I think resetting the heatsink might do the trick... but I won't be holding my breath...

This is the card, btw. But even with the one on the mobo, performance on Xfree86 is better than it ever was on Win, Linux brought faith on computers back to my soul!
