What is a good gigabit NIC for RedHat 6.1? My company hosts some legacy software, so we need the old distro, but we'd like fast ethernet. Also, we'd like to use the same model of card for RH9. Thanks for any help.

Kernel 2.2? I even doubt there was gigabit card on market back in these days I dont think anything earlier than 100mbit will work on this unless you use a ton of patchs.

but you could ues a ton of patches! Half_Elf couldn't you just compile the module (in theory) for the gbic? also, he could upgrade the kernel, stranger things have happened
mrGenixus : I doubt this will work without patching the kernel tree first since the driver is probably made for >=2.4.
Upgrading the kernel ( or the whole distro?) would be the best idea of course... but if he _really_ wants to keep RH 6.1 on a middle age kernel...
