fedora 8 on usb stick grub error

Hi,
I installed fedora 8 to my usb stick(it has 5mb write speed installation took 2-3hour but having a homebrew usb stick with linux is worth it )
Anyways i installed bootloader to usb stick /dev/sdc in my box. And stick got 3 partitions. But i didnt check instal LBA. And i finished installation. When booted usb stick it shows just
"Grub>"
no keyboard input avabile. Ctrl alt del works. and no result in google.
I think its because of LBA but i dont wanna waste usb sticks life and time.
I think anyone didnt have same problem with me google returns with no answer

hope you told grub that in your menu.1st file and created a initrd.img so your system can load the modules needed to run the file system good luck.

my usb stick was quite slow write speed 5mb per sec . and i bought new one 26mb per sec so that will be quite like my hd. this time while installing i will enable logical block adressing this time i think i need logical block adressing.
and what do you think about linux on usb stick. i wanna use my own system at job at home and at somewhere else my programs and their configuration.

the problem i have with the usb stick is my system is unable to boot from the stick. Even though my bios have that option why because I need to load drivers to run the device usb then I need the modules to read the file system. I found using a fat 32 and doing a large fdisk just like windows has made it work the other one was makeing a boot disk that loaded the drivers for the usb then used them to boot the usb. now grub will need a initrd.img to boot the drive. or build a very large kernel.
the transfer speed will be slow and if you are going to use it on other machines make a swap partition and remeber usbstick corrupt very easy if you do not umount them then say good by to your system. Do not unplug it while in use. Aas of right now there is NO DMA for usb devices so as fast as you want it will never be as fast as a hard drive. I find using puppy linux was very easy with the usb install. I found making my personel puppy live cd and putting a a prebuilt saved file on any machine before I boot puppy linux from my custom cd makes being on anycomputer just like being at home and it will save to the saved file. and can be backed just by making a copy of the saved file. plus puppy reads xp or vista swap and uses it.
