***need ALOT of help with SIS sound card***
first of all, i am a complete linux newbie. Im operating on mandrake 9.1 and im on a fairly new sony. it has a SiS7012 PCI Audio Accelerator. thats the sound card.
this is the info from the mandrake control center:
Vendor: Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS]
Alternative drivers: ali5455:i810_audio:nvaudio
Bus: PCI
Bus identification: 1039:7012:104d:8127
Location on the bus: 0:2:7
Description: SiS7012 PCI Audio Accelerator

all i know is that there is no sound, and i need sound.o yea, and at the bottom of the screen in the mandrake control center , it says running usr/sbin/drakesound when the sound card is highlighted. PLEASE HELP!

i got the sound working, i ended up installing mandrake 9.2, n it worked
