external hard drive recommendations

i'm looking for personal recommendations for an external hard drive. at least 150 GB, USB or FireWire (whichever is more stable, really. firewire under linux sounds not 100%?) and, obviously, linux compatible under various distros (currently in FC3 2.6.10 CCRMA if it matters, but have been changing a lot lately).

maybe a standard drive and a separate enclosure would be the best choice? i take forever to decide things though, so i want to just pick something and get it, and deciding two separate things will take even longer...

even company recommendations are good ("seagate drives are solid" or whatever).

these are the ones i have found so far that look like what i want:
(i have access to the older version of this, and it works fine, though i've heard they are slow and not reliable, but maybe version II is better?)
