Epson Stylus CX6400 problems

I am running FC2 with 2.6.8-521. I bought a CX6400 back when I had Mandrake 10 and it worked flawlessly. I went to FC2 after I broke my Mandrake install. I followed the directions on linuxprinting and it worked for about 2 days, then stopped working. I've been monkeying around with it for about a week now and I got it to print a black page. It completely covers the page with black ink. I guess I'm on the right track, but something is still wrong with it. It is a USB printer, and with cups I have the folloeing settings:
Device URI: usb:/dev/usb/lp0
Model/Driver is Epson Stylus CX6400 - CUPS+Gimp-Print v4.2.6 (en) <-- there's like 12 of this in the list, so I picked the first one since they all have the exact same label.

I have configured and reconfigured it countless times to see if it was a problem with the configuration, but it hasn't worked.

this is what lsmod says:

I don't think im missing any modules, but let me know if i am.

For the scanner:

I followed the directions for configuring sane, and it recognizes it about 50% of the time, but whether or not it recognizes it, it will not scan. Does anyone know how to help me get it to work?

I am on a Dell Inspiron 1100 with FC2, 2.6.8-521 kernel, 256MB RAM, Gnome 2.6
sane 1.0.15, cups 1.1.20-6

Thanks
Chris
