Hi,
I need to print from apps with ugly gui's (i believe it's motif ) like acroread (unfortunately, apps such as gpdf or xpdf don't view fonts correctly). In the print dialog, it says: Use command: /usr/bin/lpr
I try printing, but I don't see the job in CUPS, nor does it print. I tried the print to file option, and then using lpr from there, but lpr didn't accept it unless I set it to raw mode, in which case it just printed a bunch of text (not the pdf file).
Any suggestions? Printing also doesn't work from wine.
Here is what my CUPS page looks like:
Quote:
Epson Stylus Color 740 Foomatic/gimp-print-ijs
Description: Epson Stylus Color 740
Location:
Printer State: idle, accepting jobs.
Device URI: usb://EPSON/Stylus%20COLOR%20740

Also, another possibly unrelated problem - at times, when I print, there are random shadows under some words. This happens sporadically, and I have no idea if it's a problem with the hardware (printer) or the software (driver).
Any help would be *very* much appreciated. Thanks!
