Driver for Billion 7000 modem in Fedora 5

Hi

Having bought a Billion BIPAC 7000 ADSL modem because it comes with Linux drivers, i now find that I cannot install it on my system running Fedora 5.

I have chosen the "BIPAC-7000-REDHAT-9.0.i386.rpm" file to load in as this is the latest file listed.

When it has done its thing (unzipping?) I try to run "insmod e2.o" as per the instructions but get an error message saying"-1 Invalid Module Format".

Does anyone know what this means?

Does anyone know where I can get the "valid module" from?

I will try something else for the moment, but will leave this message as I am sure that I will still not get the !!!!ing thing working.

apparently the driver will not work on a 2.6 kernel, no way around that at all unfortunately.... googling further suggests that it may well work under accessrunner, which very bizarrely i only found out about 5 minutes ago with another post i answered here on LQ. accessrunner.sf.net might sort you out.

Accessrunner

Thanks. I have already discovered that site but cannot find instructions to install (newbie to Linux). It talks of a "make" instruction. I will "Google" and "HowTo" till I find out what I have to "make" or "make" from. Again thanks.

There is a Solwise RPM on theBillion site which I have been able to "run" but nothing seems to have changed and I cannot find the location of the opened files.

I have contacted Billion for Support and will see what they come up with. : ) ROFL
