doneshowconsole: Warning: the ioctl TIOCGDEV is not known by the kernel


Hi!

OS: linux@kernel-2.4.21

During boot time I get this error:

doneshowconsole: Warning: the ioctl TIOCGDEV is not known by the kernel
Has anybody an idea which option I should add to .config?

as far as I can make out the ioctl (an ioctl is a general kernel call to do any input or output) TIOCGDEV is from System V unix from AT&T.
Linux does not seem to share this particular ioctl, and any use of 'showconsole' flags this.
if the warning message troubles you either remove any instance of showconsole with a real tty or edit the souce code of libconsole.c:-
change any occurence of #ifdef TIOCDEV to a non existant ioctl (I used TQIOCGDEV)
remove the #error line thereabouts
do a make, and make install
no more errors.
