dmesg error - mttr: your cpu's had inconsistent variable mttr settings


Hi..

Can any one help me find the cause & solution of the following dmesg error message?

Thanks in advance..

mttr: probally your BIOS does not setup all CPU's

do you have multiple CPU? What's is your complete computer hardware configuration btw?

As what I see, your Bios does not support your multiple CPU very well. You might want to upgrade it.

I have a twin xeon system with 2GB RAM 4*120GB hdd & dvd-rw/cd-rw combo. The full dmesg is below is that helps further diagnosis. In the mean time I will look at updating the bios.

yeah, I suppose the problem is about your BIOS, look for an update on your company website (hope there's one).
However I don't think it's an important trouble, you computer will just be a bit slower since you'll not be able to use the full power of both CPU.
